The coaches are fab as they put you at ease explaining everything before we complete the class. WELCOME TO PROJECT FITNESS GB Houghton le Spring's only functional fitness facility. We aim to bring together strength, conditioning and mobility in order to create a fitness solution for all ages and abilities. ABOUT US At Project Fitness GB we believe that fitness is the key to improved lifestyle and mental health. No matter what your fitness level is, we work alongside you on your goals (eg. weight loss, muscle building, strength building, toning up etc) so you can be the best version of yourself. Our Head Coach, Sean Hibbert is an Ex-Military PTI (Physical Training Instructor) and has always displayed a passion for health and fitness. In February 2020, he opened up Project Fitness GB with the aim to create an inclusive community based gym that looks beyond just physical ability but the person as a whole. We offer a range of services including; personal training, group based exercise classes, nutritional advice and open gym sessions. All of our weighted equipment is brand new and state of the art and we have a custom rig. Free parking and also secured with 24 hour CCTV , which is a major bonus! We also have an onsite sports massage therapist . Reviews Joined in July after lockdown and enjoyed it so much got my wife and niece to join also. Great range of equipment and the gym is spotless but the best bit is Sean the owner/coach. Brilliant motivator who can adapt workouts for each individual depending on fitness levels so everyone is made to feel part of the team. Sean is a fantastic coach and there is a good focus on mental health. My physical and mental health have both improved ten-fold. Definitely recommend. WHAT WE OFFER Find the right one for you STRENGTH & CONDITIONING Strength & Conditioning class designed to build strength and tonne. You will work on movements such as the deadlift, back squat, bench press and much more to build strength, by using training techniques such as, super sets, hypertrophy. While also working on aesthetics by training muscle groups such as; biceps, glutes and your core. This class is accessible to all levels. Duration: 1 hour COMPETE SATURDAY This class is designed for anyone wishing to compete in the sport of Functional Fitness. It will be broken down into 4 parts: Skill Lift Workout (Team or Individual) Mobility The class will also cover competition formats, education on how to pace or attack various workouts, while also covering the technical aspects of the Sport. Duration: 1.20 hours WORKOUT OF THE DAY (WOD) Functional Fitness class which is done in teams. It consists of body weight movements, weightlifting, gymnastics and cardiovascular training to improve all areas of your fitness. This class is designed for all levels of fitness and abilities Classes are 1 hour long and consist of a 10 minute warm up / 40 minute lesson / 10 minute cool down. Classes may be individual or team. Duration: 1 hour BOOTCAMP Military based training session with our Ex-Military Physical Training Instructor. This class is designed for all levels of fitness and abilities. The class will use equipment such as sandbags, kettlebells, worms, Concept 2 ergs and much more. 10 minute warm up/ 40 minute lesson/ 10 minute cool down. After only a week of sessions I feel better already. Sean is very knowledgeable and very friendly and welcoming to new members. Join Now Great gym with great people. Sean and his team cater to all individuals at all fitness levels. The support you get is exceptional. This is by far the best gym in the area and Sean should be very proud at what he has accomplished in such a short space in time. OUR TEAM Where the passion begins SEAN HIBBERT Head Coach | Owner 12 years experience as an Military PTI (Physical Training Instructor) Level 4 Personal Trainer specialising in lower back pain Level 3 Personal Trainer specialising in exercise referral CrossFit Level 1 I was looking for a PT who could help to improve my fitness but who was also understands of my disability. I got in touch with the head coach Sean Hibbert and started having PT's on a weekly basis. He understood how to manage my disability and what would benefit me training wise. As Sean gets to know you he knows what you are capable of and will push you to achieve the best you can. In April I joined the gym and started attending the classes on a weekly basis. Sean is able to adapt classes to fit any level of ability. Everyone in the gym is welcoming and everyone encourages each other. This is the first gym I have every really felt like I am getting value for money because I am motivated to attend. I would highly recommend this gym to anyone! Dee Bloomfield I met Sean the Coach at Project Fitness GB when I thought my running days were numbered. Basically diagnosed me on the spot - told me the problem how to fix it. £12 spent on a ball - so I built my fitness back up slowly. I am now a full member at Project Fitness GB - bottom line the best bunch of positive happy people to train with of all ages. I know feel part of the family! Coach pushes me because he knows how I train - I trust him to get the very best from me. Cleanest gym I’ve ever trained in without any doubt everything where it should be.
